Our Shuttle Has Arrived!

Dream Come True!

For years the New Braunfels Humane Society has been part of annual events such as "Hawgs for Dogs" & "Bark in the Park", all while relying on employee and volunteer vehicles to transport adoption animals to and from these events. We have, no doubt, come a long way and after much determination obtained the perfect transport vehicle.

This vehicle not only has the capacity but also the functionality we've been hoping for. With our newest resource not only can we ensure complete comfort for these pets, we can also provide a safer means of transport. With a few minor alterations the spacious shuttle will allow a complete setup for kennels and will serve as a pleasant mobile adoption center for potential adopters and pets in need of a family.

We strive to seize any available opportunity to get these homeless pets out into the community, in hopes of finding lifelong placement. However, sometimes this is not possible due to weather restrictions and the unpredictable elements. As we all know, sometimes the Texas heat feels unbearable to us and has the same effect on the animals. Thanks to our new shuttle, we can now be completely accommodating to the animals we treasure by keeping them in the air conditioned/heated shuttle.

Ready When Needed

This vehicle will also allow us to help the community more effectively in dire times, such as natural disasters, by having the capability to do mass transports of animals. Did you know in 2008, in the wake of Hurricane Ike, the Humane Society transported roughly 75 animals from local evacuee shelters utilizing staff and volunteer vehicles? The reward in helping alleviate stress and worry for families and their pets in a time like this is beyond measure! Our new shuttle will allow us to do this more safely and efficiently.

Help Us Serve Our Community

There is no question how much of a resource this shuttle is and will continue to be for our community. As mentioned, we plan to make a few modifications to the shuttle and we will be maintaining this vehicle for many years to come. That's where we need your help. Your donations are welcome and appreciated and will help us set up and maintain our newest resource so that we may continue to provide mobile adoption services out in the community as well as ensure that we are ready to serve the community at large wherever and whenever needed.
